Spalding House Family Day

Every third Sunday of the month from 11am to 4pm (activities end at 3pm).

In conjunction with Bank of Hawaii Family Sunday, the museum also holds a free Family Day at its location in Makiki Heights, with entertainment and an art activity. A free shuttle bus runs between the Honolulu Museum of Art and Spalding House, so you can enjoy both events in one day.

Limited parking is available. Street parking is not permitted.

August 20: Living in harmony

Storytelling: 12 + 2pm. Drink some lemonade and hear a story about a lemonade stand! Nancy Kulp talks about different neighbors and communities, and reads a tale of friendship between a frog and a toad.

Art Activity: Make a mini neighborhood that fits inside a jewelry box.

Looking ahead:

September 17: The World Reflected
After exploring Spalding House’s latest exhibition, The World Reflected, kids can use mirrors to create collages inspired by what they’ve seen.

October 15: Yurt Life
Make decorations for your Halloween costume! Kids can get a taste of life on the steppes when living history group Khanate of the Golden Horde transform the Spalding House lawn into a Mongolian Empire settlement.
